Girl Scouts Present 5th Annual Samoa Soiree
Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast recently presented its 5th Annual Samoa Soiree, where some of the finest chefs in Hampton Roads created original appetizers and desserts using a Girl Scout cookie variety as a key ingredient.
The culinary delights were judged by area celebrities, including food writer and critic Patrick Evans-Hylton, WVEC Anchor Vanessa Coria and David Nicholson, author of The Dish Blog for the Daily Press.
Judge's choice winning recipes included Thin Mint macaroons by Terebinth Patisserie and Bistro in Chesapeake, the Elvis Burger by The Grey Goose in Hampton and Twisted Sisters Cupcakes and Sugar Shack Caf
Girl Scout volunteers Dr. Laura Sass (left) and Naval Captain Mary Jackson enjoyed themselves at the Samoa Soiree. Captain Jackson will be the keynote speaker at GSCCC's Annual Council Meeting this year.
